
I read somewhere that Tepoztlán is designated a
pueblo mágico, a magical town, a term I didn't really understand until I stepped onto my balcony at the Hotel Posada del Tepozteco. To either side were majestic mountains, with the ruins of a famous temple nestled near one peak directly to the north. The sounds of a small town drifted up to where I stood. I could see winding cobblestone roads weaving toward the main cathedral, which stood against the backdrop of a deep valley.
